Visa Information
Foreign Nationals wishing to visit India must have a valid passport and Indian Visa. The passport must be valid for six months. Foreign passengers must obtain a Visa before their journey, except for nationals of Nepal, Bhutan, and Maldives, who do not require a visa for stays up to 90 days.
The Consular Passport and Visa Division of the Ministry of External Affairs issues Indian visas to foreign nationals for various purposes.
The Government of India offers Tourist Visa on Arrival for citizens of Finland, Japan, Luxembourg, New Zealand, and Singapore, applicable for single entry and valid for a maximum of 30 days.
Arrival and Customs Information
Tourists must complete the ‘Arrival Card’ with passport details for immigration/customs. Ensure your passport is stamped by the immigration officer with an arrival stamp.
Climate
India has six seasons: spring, summer, monsoon, autumn, mild winter, and winter. The best time to visit is from October to March when destinations are fresh and inviting. Winter temperatures in North India are around 15°C–20°C, while South India is warmer, reaching 20°C-25°C. Summers (May-June) can be hot, averaging 32°C-42°C.
