Manali Tour From Delhi by Volvo [4N/5D]

[4N5D] New Delhi 1D Manali 4D

A wealth of inspiration and knowledge

Manali is situated in the heart of Himachal Pradesh. According to Hindu mythology, the town's name is derived from "Manu-Alaya," which translates to "the dwelling of Manu," the first man and lawgiver. Legend has it that sage Manu disembarked from his ark here to restore human existence following a catastrophic flood that swept across the world. Manali is often referred to as the "Valley of the Gods" and is located in the majestic Himalayas, showcasing the unparalleled artistry of nature. The town's snow-covered peaks, pristine rivers, dense forests, and lush green valleys create a visual symphony that truly captivates the senses.

Among the essential attractions in Manali is the Hadimba Devi Temple, dedicated to Hadimba, the spouse of Bhima, a hero of the Pandava clan in the epic Mahabharata. A distinctive characteristic of the temple is its construction to honor a demoness. The temple's Pagoda-style architecture, featuring a four-tiered structure made of wood and stone, a metallic roof, and a 24-meter-high Shikhara, is particularly striking. The nearby village of Vashisht is renowned for its 4,000-year-old Vashisht temple, which is home to one of the seven great Vedic sages, known as the Saptarishis, as well as for its sulfurous hot springs believed to possess exceptional healing properties. Adjacent to the springs are temples dedicated to Lord Shiva and Lord Rama.

The Manu temple honors Rishi Manu, who established Hindu laws in his text 'Manusmriti.' This temple, constructed from stone, wood, and tiles, is the only temple in India dedicated to him. Brighu Lake, according to legend, is the site where the illustrious sage Maharishi Bhrigu meditated. The waters of the lake never freeze, and locals believe that the deities of the valley visit this site for a bath.
